my first bp ms 150 ride from houston to austin on a fixed gear

I am very proud of myself for making it to austin without getting on the SAG wagon of shame. =)

Congrats! How sore are you? As a MS150 newbie, I couldn't imagine going with a fixed gear, especially with the day 1 winds and some of the Austin hills.

We (wife and I) had so much fun despite my dealing with a really bad cold. We rode sponsored (Calpine), which made everything easy at Lagrange & Austin. We will definitely do it again.

LOL you are one of the crazy bastards on a single speed! That's pretty bad ass man. Congrats! I also want to meet one of the guys that finished on a unicycle.

thanks, everyone.I was pretty sore the next day, but I still came into work and was pretty tired after lunch. The only pain I had was getting up and out of my seat. Walking wasnt a problem around the office. Sleeping was tough when tossing and turning... :/I need to get away from the SS/FG scene and get a road bike, but I need to sell both my Bianchis first. : )

I passed him attempting to remount his unicycle after one of the (up) hills outside Austin. I'm guessing he dismounted as well on the downhills......

VERY cool! You guys doing the fixie thing aren't right I saw a group of 3 doing the PMC a couple years ago ( http://pmc.org/ ). They were walking their bikes through the finish area when I noticed their cranks spinning. 194 miles in 2 days on fixies - nuts!

The uni thing has always intrigued me. My son can ride one off road but I can't even get started. This guy seems to have it figured out a bit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sV_w3...eature=related
