anyone here got a "Dimension"-branded 27" replacement fork???

I'm hoping that someone has an example of this fork, and would be willing to measure the distance between the blades at the top, just below the crown. I already have the axle-to-crown measurement, and that'd work. I just need to know how wide of a tire I can cram in there... I'm also interested in the same measurement for the cheap "sunlite" branded 27" forks, or basically any readily-available, new-production, cheapie 27" threaded forks...

I'd be extremely surprised if it wouldn't fit a 1 1/4" tire, the most common size for 27" tires (and IIRC the largest size currently availible).

Sure, But I'm hoping to get the actual measurement, b/c I'm looking to see what the fattest 700c/622 tire I can fit in there is.....

So, does anyone own that fork(or a similar one) and a ruler?

Yes it works well on my Viscount and will handle Bontager 32s without a problem. I used that fork to replace the original "death" fork. Roger

I bet it'd take a 35. Plenty of daylight next to a normal tyre in those.

I'd expect the question mark to be clearance above the tyre rather than beside it.

Naw. with an ATC of 387 or whatever, there's plenty of room there. 47mm between the blades won't make the grade for my project, though. I'm not sure anything will, really, aside from some unicrown jobs. The surly 1" threadless fork will work, but i'd need to cut it, thread it, and decide what to do about the canti-posts, aside from running cantilever brakes....
