Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Power tap wheel set

Iam looking to get into power training. I want a set up for training, as bullet proof as possible in an alum clincher rim set.

Could you guys post a few options I should consider and what device I need to capture the data?

Email Psimet. He built a set of wheels for me that have been bulletproof. DT RR585 Rims, 28 count DT comp spokes, with White Industries H2 Silver Hub in the front. PT Pro SL+ with 32 count spokes in the rear. Not the lightest setup, but if strength is you concern, I can testify to this build being tough as nails.

I had him on the list until I started poking around the forum. He seems like he is totally over worked and behind. I don't want to wait months.

I trust one of the builders at my LBS and so got some Kinlin 270's from Bikehubstore.com along with a front hub and had then build up a 24F/28R set with DT competition spokes. Ride wicked nice and weigh about as much as my Ksyrium Elite wheelset.

Not wanting to make this an ad, but....been focusing on reducing that. I am now full time on wheels instead of doing 2 full times jobs.

Lots in development for new products and services, going into distribution, and building more wheels than I ever have. Leadtimes are greatly reduced now. ....just sayin....

+1 on Psimet. I have been very happy with my Kinlin XR300 Powertap wheels after 2k miles and numerous races.
