Bike-mounted camera nabs hit & run driver

One hit & run driver will pay for his crime. This video is too good to believe. Berkeley police arrested driver upon viewing license plate in video.
Fast forward to 2:38 to see the crash.

Wow, they got the license plate from that?

I'm starting to have thoughts about riding with a video camera in traffic. I'd probably never look at it but how many of these incidents never get prosecuted because it's easier for the drive to just take off?

That's what I was thinking. Not to mention going straight in a right turn only lane. They should have handed him a citation right on the spot.

He could have omitted that, so you have to appreciate his honest coverage. But I dare you to point this out in the A&S forum...

^ Wow did you notice the waist on the one on the far right? I don't think she's too fat for this sport.

holy crap...my palms were sweatin' watching that. Glad to see those guys are OK. Now I'm thinking it's not a bad idea to start filming as well just for this very reason. I think it might be wiser to maybe face the camera backwards though.

I heard about this rear view camera about a year ago. Does anyone have/use it?

most cars where a driver is distracted - texting or talking this is what happens.. I like how the owner told the cops his car was stolen.. video evidence hard to overcome.

LCD screen, camera that records the last 10 minutes in a continuos loop (stops recording if bike is laid down), cyclometer, ANT+ compatible and more. Sounds like a lot more than a rear view mirror.

The main reason I wear my Go Pro while riding on the street now is for this very reason. So far I have filmed 3 close calls.

Do you film with it facing forward of backwards?

Not out yet though, right? It seems interesting that you can download software updates but not actually buy the unit yet. Must be testing.

Any idea where the company is based?
