1974 Raleigh Superbe, Roadmaster Mountain Sport Mountain Bike
I'm back after all of these years
Hi, I'm' Miles Lowry. I used to post here (but not much). I recently received a Roadmaster for my birthday and I'm getting back into cycling. I had to quit several years ago when we discovered a small lake under our house and construction and reconstruction began, it's still not finished. I recently started walking for exercise but I had to have foot surgery at the beginning of the month, my Dr. said that I could bike months before I would be able to walk for exercise again, so here I am. Doohickie, thanks for your help today.
I'm glad I could help. (Like Miles said, we met a few years back, and he still had my cell phone number. When he had trouble logging on after being inactive for a while, he sent me a text message and I pinged the admins to unfreeze his account.)
We do a pub crawl ride every Sunday night (lights required), starting out of the Chat Room Pub. Gather at 7 PM, leave at 7:30, ride about 12 miles, make stops at two bars. Relaxed pace, usually return to the Chat at about 10:30. Just because of the geography of Fort Worth, we usually have one or two significant climbs which challenge some beginners, but it's definitely a No Drop ride. (Fort Worth seems pretty flat until you start riding it.) I don't do it every Sunday night, but I'm there most of the time.
I stop for people / whose right of way I honor / but not for no one.
