Fantasy Giro?
----------updated to add:------------
velogames.com
League Name: BikeForums.net
League Code: 02143419
--------------------------------------
I'm surprised George at Velogames hasn't crossed on over to the Giro yet. He's still showing Fantasy Classics and we're only a few days out. I keep refreshing my browser and clearing cache thinking I have a tech problem.
nrtoone is up already here. It's a little harder to talk smack there since it doesn't provide for the mini-league thing that Velogames has, but I plan on winning that one, too. Hop on, wheelsuckers.
On nrtoone you can afford just about any team you want, which makes me feel kind of Larry Ellison / Richard Branson-like.

I don't know what you're talking about. Look on the upper row and you'll see "fantasy Giro" just right to "Fantasy Classics."
Also on that note, we have a chance to get a competition going? If so, I'm taking Fabian and Levi as my top two for the race

Good Lord, was that up there yesterday?
My secret motive for posting this thread was that I was confident, once I did, the Giro would update and I would be wrong here but able to enter.
I've set up this mini-league. Let the trash talking commence.

I'm on road.cc for fantasy Giro---My first time ever. It shows.. i think i picked terribly!
Star Riders (Pick 4):
Rui Costa
Pierre Roland
Mark Renshaw
Enrico Gasparotto
Domestiques (Pick 5):
Robert Kiserlovski
Andrew Talansky
Brett Lancaster
Petr Ignatenko
Christian Vande Velde
I wanted Wiggins but he was mad expensive and I don't know if he'll go all out when he's suddenly the big contender for the TdF...

I don't expect much from Thor. He kept talking about how he wanted to win Paris Roubaix so much and then ended up falling on an easy corner and couldn't recover... so far not impressed with his form.

Yeah - he was on fire last year because he was hungry for a big fat contract. Now that he's making big money with BMC I don't think he'll be as aggressive.

A few more hours of an 8-way tie, then the selection starts. It's tough in VeloGames to go too crazy sprinter heavy, so the fades there may not be quite as epic as they will be over on nrtoone later in the race. Still, I'm sure we're in for some ups and downs on both the games. Enjoy your ups while they last!
I'm doing my best to dump all the almost-picked-that-guys from my brain, so I won't be wallowing in guilt and missed opportunities for the next 3 weeks. I'm working hard, in life in general, at becoming more focused on looking forward to positive outcomes and being upbeat, optimistic, enthusiastic and supportive of others. So for this Giro, I'm channeling that exclusively into visions of how good it will be to look down from the top step of the podium on the 1st and 2nd losers, and what a great job the other bigger losers did just for showing up and trying. Yes, we're all winners.

On that note, I demand full disclosure. How many of you picked Phinney because you thought he was a good buy, and how many picked him because you liked him? Regrets from my end...

I left him off my roster on purpose. Picking him would have caused two problems. First, it would it would have gotten in the way of my trademark worst-to-first charge after a slow start. Second, with him on the team, by the end I would have been so far ahead that the calls for aggressive demands for testing of various body fluids would have been deafening, and with the late pick of the teams there was not enough time for my performance enhancing substances to flush from my system. I need to settle for simple crushing victory and not awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping dominance.

picked phinney because of the combo of low price/value and thought he might have a top 3 placing in him. obvs lucked out with phinney but expect my inexorable, inevitable slide from first to worst to start any stage now.
any of you plan on doing a tour of california game? it's not up yet.
and a big thanks to slcbob for setting up the league!

Hey, watch it there, buster! To heck with you and your Goss-free hypotheticals. Even with all my guys, I've got <100 points.

What was I thinking? Mountains can't get here soon enough.

I'm still down here in the basement. Hey, everybody, isn't it time to feed the gimp? Let's get all those flashy sprinters out of the way and get down to the 2nd tier finishers. Maybe it will pay off in the long run. Or maybe I need to learn Italian for Lantern Rouge?

Haha, For once, I'm not there... However, I realized I made a grave mistake. Why would I have Uran and Cavendish on my team? Especially with Uran being worth 14 points? I think when I saw him, I thought he was having a good season so far, even though most of the finishes were sprint finishes when Cav wasn't involved. I'm an idiot..

That said, I think Uran was over-priced and, more significantly, he was in the GC rider pool. If he had been an 8 point domestique like Pinotti I think he would have been a great pick.
Net -- I'm coming to get you, Eddiepliers. One soon-to-be down (hurry up with the update, George!), 7 more to go. Ha ha ha.

Well, it looks like I'll be falling back after Tuesday. My guess is Kyle and Creatre will be moving further ahead with Joaquim Rodriguez after he takes the overall on that finish.

Despite a few of my boys waking up today, Mamba Point Velo is seriously considering joining Thor on the beach. Unless Purito pulls off one of his trademark collapses sooner rather than later I may not be able to stay within the time cut of this league. I'm already looking forward to Le Tour.
