Hello from Cape Cod MA.

After a long hiatus I have just returned to bicycling. I have a 1980 Peugeot U0-8 that I purchased when I had more hair.
But I have come to fined out that this frame is too big for me. So recently I picked up a 1977 Motobecane Grand Jubilee.
Took it for a quick ride and seemed nice, but have since found out that the front rim is warped. So I may need to replace it.
I'm working with a good friend to determine a workable solution. The Moto is not a show piece but is much lighter and shifts much
smoother than the U0-8. Hopefully I will feel the difference in riding comfort with this smaller frame.
The Cape is a great place to bike, see ya there.

have any of you cape cod riders been on the shining sea bike path?
i need a discription such as any hills or long inclines?
i was told yesterday by my dr. no more hilly rides. will need a lt knee replacement. i'm trying to stall the surgery till late sept., but was told fklats are ok.
i been on the cape cod rail trail and the buzzard bay canal path.

I found this link http://www.capecodbikeguide.com/shiningsea.asp which describes the Shining Sea bike path.
I've ridden the short stretch from Falmouth to Woods Hole about 10 years ago. It is very scenic, one of my favorite rides.
There is also a section of the Cape Cod Rail trail from RT 134 thru Harwich which I love. Lots of cranberry bogs and ponds and it's
flat. As the trail enters Brewster a slight upgrade is encountered. You may want to reverse direction at that point. Should be about a 10mile round trip.

I've ridden the Shining Sea many times. It's basically flat. One incline around Sippewisset Marsh that's only noticeable if you're not in very good shape. Old rail beds are limited in how much elevation they can gain per mile.
