Bikes: A bunch of old bikes and a few new ones

Frankenstein Utility Bike

Most all of my bikes are in boxes since we are moving. But I recently fixed up my one do it all bike, a Soma double cross. I love the bike for all around riding esp. when I am out of shape (like right now, ). The parts were all "donated" from other bikes and/or good friends. The wheels came from a Bridgestone RB-1, the crank (a Suntour XC pro) from a Trek 720 that I rode across country, the Selle Italia turbo saddle came from a Team Miyata I used to race, the cantis are xc-pros that I had lying around, and the Deore LX derailleurs and Shimano 7 bar end shifters came from a Bridgestone X0-2. The brake levers are old school gran compe. The headset is new but I scrounged around for a seatpost, stem and bar. It was a fun build:

Nice bike. Where did you get hoods for the Gran Compe levers?

Thanks, I like it a lot. The brake levers are new old stock; I have a lot of pre-indexing stuff. But you can get new new stock of gran compe levers from velo-orange, https://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...ke-levers.html.

Thanks. I've got a set of the Gran Compe gold levers, but I'm not sure what hoods will fit and I can't find just the hoods. They're original equipment on my Centurion RS (I'm also looking for an Araya gold anodized wheelset). I did a search and found some people saying they used Campy hoods but they weren't a perfect fit. Do you know how the Dia Compe 204 hoods compare?

What bars are those?

They're profile bars that a buddy gave me; I'm running an ITM stem. I've always liked ITM stems and bars. The gold anodized stuff is sweet but it has to be hard to find at this point. I have no idea how the 204 hoods compare but if they fit, I'd use them and call it a day.

If I knew they'd fit I'd do just that; I just hate to buy without knowing.

If I keep the bike stock all I need are the hoods, wheels, and a spring for the RD. Buy I may go with some new gold bits: the Jagwire gold bar-end adapters look cool and I've seen a few different gold dual pivot caliper brakes that would make nice upgrades.
