    Spray paint over anodized finish

    Hi everyone,

Anyone know of a good primer or bonding agent for me to use to get spray paint to stick to an anodized rim? Also, which paint do you suggest? I notice there is a VHT aluminum wheel paint.

This is actually for a motorcycle wheel, but I'm thinking some people here may know what to use.

    Best,
    -John

go to a car body shop, they have special primers for aluminum, they should be able to prime your parts for a small reasonable fee.

the increase in aluminum panels on cars is growing all the time, they know exactly what to do.

I think Zinc Chromate primer is what you want, but the paint guy will know.

Zinc Chromate is used on bare aluminum. Anodized aluminum is not bare aluminum.
