How much wind does it take to keep you indoors?

For me, anything over 15mph...although that's probably pretty low and I should HTFU?

I live in the plains of Texas and I don't think I have had a ride in the last week where the winds have been less than 15mph. Long story short, don't move to TX.

    uh-oh, another one!

ahem, 'round heah, 0-15 is nice; onshore wind cranks up almost every day, like clockwork.

How much is too much? oooh, over 35 mph is uncomfortable on the windward legs, but beats no ride... let's say over that, eh?

It's a good number, on account o' it doesn't happen very often.

i commute so i ride regardless of the wind.

but on joyrides... yeah, prolly won't go if it's over 20mph with gust of over 35mph.

Depends on my mood, how I'm feeling, if I'm riding solo or group, size of the expected group, etc. If I'm solo, if it's nearing on 20, especially if it's gusting above that, I'll probably take a walk/jog instead. If it's a good sided group where I know I can get some shelter from the winds when needed, then I'll do 25+ if the weather is nice otherwise. If it's cold, windy, and damp out - forget about it.

Commuting, I'll go out if it's gusting at 40 mph, but not 50, so that's my absolute limit. On weekends, I'll generally won't ride if it gusting over 30 mph. Likewise, I have no problem commuting in rain, snow, or darkness, but I won't ride in that on my days off.

I usually pay no attention until I'm out riding and it's too late. Then I just suffer and hope it makes me a better man.

Depends, usually if the sustained wind is much higher than 15 I'll just go ride some singletrack, I don't have a car though and public transportation here is a joke, so commuting it doesn't matter, I'm on the bike anyway.

I quit looking at the speedometer when it gets windy. Cadence only (and, if I had it, power output).
