Greetings,

I'm a new member from West Grey south of Owen Sound in Ontario.
A group of us ride once a week, mainly on gravel with a lot of hills and interesting country riding.

Thought I'd check out your group to see what I can learn and participate in. I enjoy doing maintenance as well as the ride.
I am getting in shape for a cycle tour next year along the Pacific coast accompanying my son who's done a number of tours.
Should be very cool.

By the way, does anyone have any advice Pros/ Cons on a Surly Cross Check?

There is a Google Group dedicated to Surly bikes at http://groups.google.com/group/surlylht/topics. There are LOTS of happy Cross Check owners there. I own a Long Haul Trucker and it's a great bike for longer hauls.

Last year I rode from Salt Lake City, Utah to Durango, Colorado camping along the way. I blogged the tale at http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/?...c_id=8910&v=7B. I'm sure you'll find lots of blogs at CrazyGuyOnABikecom where people tour the Pacific coast. I'm off to ride from Barcelona, Spain to Bayonne, France next month.
