At first I thought the title said, How do i measure my socks?
What's the bike and model of fork? It's going to be easier to tell what the travel is if we know what the fork is.
I just got the bike from someone as i am new to mountain biking, it is a Giant and the guy changed the original fork out with this RockShox one, i cant see a model number or anything on the fork just its a SID and it says dual air.

So it's anywhere between 80 and 120mm.
Most likely 80mm or 100mm.....
I would consider getting it repaired. The sid is a very high end fork.
If you take it to a lbs, they should be able to get the parts to fix it, and fix it there. So depending on how busy the shop is it could be anywhere at most from 1-2 weeks.
When I had suspension, if I needed work on the suspension fork, and parts were in stock, it would be done in around an hour. Otherwise, next day.
