Stage 1 - Santa Rosa ... Where are you watching it?
OMG, does it really start on Sunday? Sorry Giro ... but you're going to have to take a back seat to ATOC. So where is everyone watching it? I can't decide ... Santa Rosa, King Ridge, Coleman Valley? It's nice that it's a loop, but still can't decide where to see it.
I'm thinking of just hanging out in downtown Santa Rosa along 3rd. Watch the start, neutral laps, sprint and finish. Visiting the booths during the gaps. I'm sure it will be crowded, but it seems to have the most bang for the buck.
The KOMs would be good too. But given the limited shoulder parking, that's a lot of riding (or hiking) to get there for a short window of viewing.
Also, I just downloaded the iOS ToC app to keep track of the race while wandering around.
I'm going to watch it in the comfort of my living room today. I'll catch it on Tuesday Stage 3 when it hits Livermore and Stage 4 leaving out of Sonora.
I camped out by the start most of the day. Got to see a bit of racing, especially the sprint and finish. I've posted some shots here: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjzm5Xxo
