i thought about doing that, but kind of scared to buy wheels online. Not much stuff as far as bikes on craigslist around here. So wouldn't be able to see them in person before buying. Would have to be Ebay.
yeah. have to be careful. turns out the person i sold it to is a fellow racer so there is some connection there. but within my club people have sold wheels and parts so that kind of network is sometimes fruitful
I have a set of these, as well. From 2010. The owner of my LBS describes them as bombproof. Never broke a spoke on the Aksiums.
I hear a lot of people talk badly of them as the "stepbrother" of the Mavic line. Where they are still on the heavy wheel side at 1735g, they are a much stiffer ride, and roll much better than the stock open bearing wheels that came on the bike. In spite of having a higher spoke count they flexed much more than these bladed spokes allow. I can't say that I wouldn't consider a lighter set of wheels when funds allow, but it is not high on my list of parts to consider.
