    +1. I live in the same area as the OP, and I've ended up w/ 2 cassettes. The 12-30 is really nice if the ride has a lot of steep climbs, in the beginning I may not use the 30 but near the end of the ride it sure is nice! I use a 12-25 for commuting/regular rides, if you look at a gear-inches chart that cassette has more different gears around the 18-21 mph / 90-100 cadence. I like being able to select a perfect gear regardless of the wind/slight incline/whatever. the 11-27 had a big gap right where I do most of my pedaling.

    Ultegra 12-25 would be my preferred cassette too... I have 11-25 on a couple of wheels and am really missing the 16t...

    DA cassettes are just way too expensive for a lighter but less durable part. I just got rid of one and downgraded to Ultegra.
