Hotter than dickens here. By the way, have you ever tried a Dicken's Cider when the weather get this hot? It will fix what ails you.

103 and a heat index of 110 are the results today. The tarps have definitely helped the plants, as well as the occasional misting with a spray bottle I've been giving the plants every few hours. I know the dry air is sucking the moisture right out of the pots, though. I've had to water twice so far today.

It's 1630, the temp was forecasted at 101 for the high. According to the Forecastfox widget, it's currently 105 actual, feels like 106, wind S10mph. The radar is showing green stuff in CO and NM that is trying to sneak into parts of the OK and TX panhandles. Of course, that might be smoke instead of rain...

But yea, I've got a severe thunderstorm warning here, but it looks like it's just going to miss me. Hopefully the other cluster won't. I went out when it was 98, and after 10 minutes I was kicking myself for even bothering to shower.

What creeps me out is the wind. There are 15-20mph winds out there blowing at 98f degrees. 100+ earlier. Darned near all day long. I honestly do not think I have ever experienced anything like that.

Temps just dropped 33 degrees in the storms that just rolled through. Getting another big boomer rolling in right now, too.
