Student survey : Cycling Safety and Accidents

    Hello Advocacy & Safety Forum!
My name is Donald and I am an industrial design student at San Francisco State University.
I am in the middle of my final class centered around research & development. The purpose of the research is to develop a way of making cycling safer.
Please take a minute and complete my survey. The results will help me through the research and design process.
After completing the survey feel free to follow up with any stories or feedback in this thread.

    Thank you!

The answer to all your questions is "remove cars from the road."

    Thank you

Please allow me to point you to http://www.aviewfromthecyclepath.com/ as well as http://www.copenhagenize.com/. Between those two blogs, you'll find most of the information you need about how cycling can be made safer.

At least the OP has been in BF for some time before putting up a survey.

OK so I did his survey... with the really limited number of selections for why a cyclist might get hit by a car. (did not include any choice such as "driver failed to do their job")

    Thanks for replies so far!
This is really helping me out with research toward a solution that I hope will help cyclists be safer.

I'll make sure to come back with some final solutions toward the end of my semester.

Yeah but no matter how we deny it... everybody walks... you walk to your bike, others walk to their cars... we all walk. The only folks that don't walk, don't walk because they can't.
