Construction on Tunnel Rd / Ashby Ave

I was thinking about taking the "long way home" on Friday (Ashby-Tunnel-Skyline-Redwood), but remember seeing signs on the freeway about repaving being done on Ashby Ave and Tunnel Rd. Has anyone rode or driven by there recently and know what the road conditions are like now? Thanks in advance.

My sense is that this will be a moving target, different parts of Ashby/Tunnel getting worked on at different times. The current project is from San Pablo to Hiller Ave. (San Pablo to Seventh to get done next year), but I drove Tunnel between Hiller and Claremont last Saturday, and nothing was going on there yet, all the road work was lower down. Can't tell you what things will be like Friday. The project is supposed to be done by early fall, someone told me they were doing the west end of the project first, which would mean they aren't likely higher up on Ashby or Tunnel yet, but I wouldn't necessarily trust that information.
