Anyone by chance happen to know if the SGRT trail is open all the way down to the beach or is it still closed in parts for construction?

parts are closed.... 183rd street southbound and uh, just south of there northbound.

You can get around it by riding down the retaining wall if you're so inclined.

I think its the Artesia Blvd tunnel that's closed. Going down and up that concrete embankment is kind of steep and the consequences are severe if you don't make it. Some riders walk their bikes down and up the embankment.

Near the Artesia Blvd SGRT is also the Coyote Creek Bike trail that actually connects to the SGRT. I don't know the conditions of any kind of Coyote Creek closures, but that would be an alternative route to bypass the closed Artesia tunnel.

The distance between the SGRT and the Coyote Creek trail while on Artesia Blvd is about .83 of a mile, going West on Artesia.

Tunnel under 183 is closed.
Just get off trail at Artesia.
500 ft West to Palo Verde.
South on Palo Verde for about a mile to South St.
East on South st. for 1000ft to bike trail.

Very easy detour.

You can rid eto Coyote Creek on Artesia, but its about 3 miles away. Coyote creek is open all the way south of Artesia Blvd..

Coyote Creek is closed at Alondra but the south portion is open (and recently renovated). Maxwell's detour is probably easiest if you don't want to chance the embankment (I didn't! I just turned around)

Only parts of CC have been renovated. There's still a pretty crumbly stretch from just north of the SGRT junction to beyond Carson/Lincoln (which is where I usually exit on my farmers' market runs, although sometimes I go to Del Amo, since it's more likely to have the gate open, and getting the panniers full of produce past the bollards is a pain). (And what idiot is responsible for those bollards anyway????)
