Write a letter to the Amtrak folks and tell them that they need to accommodate bikes at ALL their stops. Toccoa is a flag stop, but you can only put bikes in baggage and you can't get baggage out, except at major cities. It would be possible to train to Toccoa, arrives in the evening, spend the night at local motel, ride all next day and train back to ATL in the evening. It would even be possible to ride out to the National Forest and primitive camp from here. Amtrak is so lame, but its hard for them to thrive in a society based on personal vehicles.
