Am I the only person in this planet commuting to work with Pyro Platforms**********???
I was discussing with a buddy about stuff with micro markets. And he said:”like the market of people commuting to work with pyro platforms = market volume= 1 person = 1/7000000000 world market share”.
Am I really the only one?
I have evolved into using Pyro Platforms since I got hook on being hooked to the pedals. Basically I got focused into having a perfectly round and ankled 4 quarters pedaling style.
It turns out that you need to practice for years to get something decent about that, since your brain needs to automatically pedal round, without being reminded to pedal round.
I bought some walkable MTB shoes, I bought one set of Retrofiz (www.retrofitz.com/), I have tested also power grips, but it is especially with the Pyro Platforms that I commute to work.
Those enable me also to ride fixed pedal on fixed gear, with the safety that clipless pedals provide you.
I do not know any other solution to ride fixed on fixed other than changing shoes at work (which in my case is not feasible).

It seems to me that there was a brief period in the late 80's when the tri guys were using these things but they ultimately didn't add enough stiffness that it was worth it to change shoes even in relatively short events. From the commuting perspective they may actually save having to carry a set of regular shoes on the commute which might make it worthwhile. The problem is marketing as the commuter market isn't really that interested in the added stiffness and the roadie market doesn't have the shoe problem. They should make them "artisanally" and then maybe us hipsters will start using them.

I don't use a contraption like this with "work shoes" because they screw up your shoes. The parts that rub against your shoe day after day take a toll. I'm talking about various leather shoes.
I prefer to leave shoes at work. My ride takes a toll - in the summer it's hot, in the winter it's cold.

The problem is that there aren't many other solution to go "fixed on fixed" and not changing of shoes at work. Besides, how do you walk from the parking lot to the cubicle???
If a walkable "Look style cleat" shoe would exist I would probably experiment with it.
With the SPD cleat the situation is different. I am really liking some retrofitz shoes that I have built, however I do have and use a set of Pyros with the SPD cleat.
