Withlacoochee Clean Air Ride

The wife gave me the thumbs up even though the B&B will be open that weekend so I just registered.
I registered for the 48 miles but may try for the century. If not I'll at least do a metric century.

Who else will be there?

Wish I could do the ride - did it last year - but - John, Natalie and their daughter and I are going over to ride the St. Marks/Tallahassee trail as well as riding down to the St. Marks lighthouse that weekend. Plan to do some kayaking while we're there as well.

enjoy the St Marks/Tallahassee trail. Hubby and I did it several years ago. We stayed overnight in St Marks. We visited the lighthouse but didn't do any riding in that area. Let us know how that goes. Have fun.

The weather is still kind of iffy for Saturday but if it doesn't rain I'll be there. I'll be riding the Felt and you can spot me by the leg tattoos and I'll be wearing this jersey.

I haven't got the thumbs up on it, unfortunately. We're already committed to a ride down in Tampa with a couple of friends.

I was thinking of going up to Ridge Manor and riding the trail up to Floral City and back around mid morning tomorrow though. I've managed to swing a day off, and it's going to be a perfect day for a ride.

I woke up at 5:30 to get ready for the ride. Opened the front door and looked outside and it was pouring and felt cold. Looked at the Weather Channel and saw more rain coming from the Gulf so decided to go back to bed.
I just got up and the sun is out and there's lots of blue sky. I should have gone with my original gut instinct.

I'll be kicking myself all day.

There are a few things to get used to around this area, Ron. Namely the weather. If it looks rainy at 5:30 it generally won't be by 8. Weather Channel radar is ineffective unless it's right overhead. A lot of the time the clouds will veer North once they get inland. "Cold" is relative, it doesn't usually stay "cold" all day, and being a Georgia Boy, you'll learn to appreciate the cooler days of winter, when you can actually ride without feeling like you're in a 95 degree sauna.
Neither cold nor rain seem to last for long here.
Oh and just to make you feel better, I had a great ride on the lower tampa bay trail, the weather was actually on the muggy side though.

Look forward to meeting up with you sometime for a ride on the Withlacoochee!
