SoCal visit

I'm going to be in LA next week for work and will stretch the trip to do some cycling while I'm there.

Right now I'm planning to:

1) Ride the SFVBC MMMM ride on Saturday, May 18th.

2) Ride GMR/GRR on Sunday, May 19th. Looking to at least make it to Mt. Baldy village; hopefully the ski lifts if my legs are willing.

May also do another ride, earlier in the week, up 39 to Crystal Lake or 2 but not sure yet. My pesky job might get in the way.

Would be cool to meet some SoCal BFers whether doing the MMMM or if anyone is interested in riding GMR/GRR with me on Sunday. (Full disclosure on my hill climbing speed: I'm a clyde from New Jersey)

Go post in the clyde forum and see if you can drum up support for a Clyde Ride to the village- we just did one last Sunday and I'd go but I'm in a cast.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy your stay.

Me too!

I think it's good for an extra 10 W when I get it off.

Sounds fun, but we will be at the Heartbreak 100 ride that weekend. Rode GMR today, perfect weather, no cars and quite a few other cyclists skipping work and riding.

Great picture! Hope you have a great ride, too! I'm planning to do the SFVBC MMMM ride on 5/19.

Sounds great! For the record, I'm no speedster once the pavement goes vertical

Looks like we may have a change of plans. GMR to the Village was to be our last training ride for La Bella Preme on 6/1. That ride was cancelled so quite a few of us are doing Great Western Bike Rally on 5/26 instead. So doing GMR to Village is being discussed as moving to another time.

Yeah La Bella Preme was cancelled due to not enough signed up.

The GWBR is Memorial Day weekend. We are doing the 70 mile route I think.

We plan on doing GMR sometime in June now

Was anybody from your team riding in the Tour de Cure in Long Beach back in April? That kit looks familiar, I think I was behind somebody wearing it heading up that last climb in PV for a bit.

Thanks for the update. I will still be riding GMR/GRR on 5/19 if anyone else interested.

Gonna be up outta town helping the daughter unit with her project. Otherwise, I'd have been glad to show you around.

You'll love GMR/GRR ... very sweet.

There were 3 ladies in the jersey with two in full kit at the LB Tour de Cure. I was one in full kit. The other two ladies were thinner....I'm in the pic above on left in black helmet.

It was good meeting you today, Andy. Didn't feel up to the PCH/Malibu Canyon thing but I hope you had a great ride. Some of our regulars were at the Heartbreak 100 or there would have been more on the long ride.
I hope that orange faced Larry didn't talk your ear off.

As a matter of fact, yes he did! It's all good because we share strikingly similar professional and educational backgrounds.

It was a pleasure meeting you, ValleyGirl and the other BF folks who were on the ride. I hope to see you all the next time I'm in LA.
