New to the forums and just getting back into biking after not having ridden much since I was a teenager on a mountain bike.
I knew I was looking for a hybrid and that I was willing to spend around $1,000 to get something I could grow into and get years of use out of. I tried a Jamis Coda Elite and found, much to my surprise, that I wasn't really a fan of the steel frame compared to the aluminum frame and carbon forks of the higher end Giant Escapes.
In any case, I ended up picking up the Escape RX-1 a couple of days ago over the Escape 0 based on my mistaken belief that the Escape 0 didn't have a carbon fork.
Now that I've realized that it *does* have a carbon fork, I was wondering if you lot could convince me that the RX-1 overall is a sufficient upgrade over the Escape 0 to make it worth forgoing the awesome matte black paint scheme of the Escape 0.
Having ridden the RX-1 around a bit in the last couple of days, I've really enjoyed it, though frankly I'm not yet at a fitness level to go long enough distances to really feel the comfort difference between the 28mm and 32mm tires anyway.
Basically, I'd like some reassurance that the RX 1 is sufficiently better than the Escape 0 to be worth a paint scheme I like slightly less and a price that is a bit higher.
