    Trainer Skewer

I've bought a Cyclops mag trainer this year and, as the instructions stated, I put in the temporary skewer for use with the trainer. Now that it's warming up a little, I'd like to go for a ride or two, but winter is definitely coming again. My question is: Is the temporary skewer strong enough for regular rides? I assumed that the temporary skewer was included so that the trainer wouldn't scratch the one that came with the bike. Is this correct? Thanks!

It is plenty strong, probably stronger than the one that came out. Its purpose is to keep your original skewer from getting damaged, it usually fits the cup in the trainer better as well

As others have said above, the trainers skewer will be fine for regular usage. It's included as some skewers cannot fit in the trainer, like Mavic.

Yep, go ride. It's only a problem if you're a real weight weenie.
