How do you get rid of annoying dogs?
I've been having trouble with dogs chasing me. I live in the country so on almost all my loops i'm chased. How do you get rid of dogs these annoying dogs? I tried to kick one once but almost fell of my bike.

I've emptied my water bottle in their faces.
Mixed results. Sometimes effective; sometimes it encourages the dog.

You don't need anything more than a water bottle. Get one that lets you throw a long, thin stream and you can hit the dog in the face from 10-15 feet away. Stops them in their tracks or at least makes them slow down so you can get away.

I don't know if it's been luck or what, but when a dog starts chasing me and I can't sprint away, I slow down and basically end the chase, yelling "no" at the dog. So far, they quickly lose interest.

Pepper spray works well but you need to get it in the eyes or nose.

Face the dog down and you'll be fine. Unless you're inherently afraid of dogs...then not so much, lol

Ahm no, my dog a 35Kg German Shepherd loves water in the face, his favourite pastime is getting hosed in the face, he can't get enough of it.

I evaluate the dog. Most are just looking for harmless entertainment. I try to pet the friendly ones. I score if I make contact and do not fall down. Jack Russell Terriers are really difficult to reach.
Questionable dogs encourage me to steadily pick up the pace.

The first thing I do is yell at them as loud as possible. They are often surprised at this and often stop - reminds them of their owner hollering at them. I have debated pepper spray but haven't gone that far yet.
