Sad face. The Vancouver Bike Show just happened this past weekend and quite a lot of bikes were equipped with Race Face products. A lot of items on sale. I didn't find the show all that good. It only had like 3 aisles of booths and it had a lot of XC bikes. Only 3 track bikes by Cyfac on display; several Giants with 6800 and one or two with 7800, several tri-bikes with 650s.

those Cyfac bikes, are they the ones with the square tubes twisted? Just googled and it's Cysco not Cyfac:

Those are soma sparrows and are really comfy. They put my hands in a perfect position. I know I just left myself open with that last sentence.

I hear that Leader discontinued the 727. Too bad; I really like the look of the thing. But, then again, I ride a cruiser (still a single speed, so it has to count in this forum!), a Trek Classic. The 727 looks like a "speed cruiser," if I may coin a term.

Maybe if I change the saddle, flip the bars and put on some deep Vs...

I have to say, that crank makes the new 725 look TERRIBLE! But that is such a lovely frame...

trust me, i do not argue it at all, but in the chance that my bike doesn't work i have to car in the driveway to save me, so in the case of making work so that i can get to work the crank will have to do for now. replacement will be in order in due time

36 x 16 sounds like pretty good gearing though there are a lot of factors. I used 39 x 17 in a couple of races and on a fast course was actually wishing for more gear

I think you will be fine. I bounce between 39 17 -19 depending on conditions. I did two races on the Sycip in really muddy conditions this year and was fine. Actually did better on the SS than on the geared.

BTW, who is still running races this time of the year? I wish we had one coming up.

are you sure it wasn't the threads on your cranks that were shredded? i shredded a set of cranks once and the material from the shredded cranks seemed to fill the thread on the puller, making it seem like the puller was shredded.
