The Row (sounds like now) River Trail is a Rails-to-Trails project starting in Cottage Grove, Oregon, going east from town into the Cascade Mountains. The trail is 16 miles long, but at the east end it connects with very low volume paved roads that go into the Umpqua National Forest.

I rode 50 miles, from Cottage Grove to Spirit Falls and back the same way. The ride included three covered bridges, and 3000 ft of climbing over 25 miles.

The first bridge is the Mosby Creek Bridge


The trail is hard surface and very smooth

After leaving the rails-to-trails path, it's on to Culp Creek and the National Forest

Then into the National Forest

Looks like a great ride. I do the Banks to Vernonia rail trail a couple times a month during the summer, but with the about 15 miles of gravel I take the mountain bike. We still need to plan some of the training rides for Cycle Oregon. Take care.

Mark this trail on your list of rides, the trail starts in downtown Cottage Grove, OR It is great for the whole family, very safe.

There is a new French Bakery downtown to supply the fuel.

Wow! That sounds like a beautiful and (for me challenging) ride. I'd love to do it some day. Thanks for the pictorial...so nice Love the bike staging in some of the more meaningful stages of your ride . Sometimes a bike needs a good lookin' over huh? lol
