I am deciding on getting a new bike and these are the ones that I am set on........I have heard good and bad about all of them..SO which do you think I should get?

Specialized Hardrock Pro....w/disc
Gary Fisher Mullet
Trek Bruiser 2
or the Marin B-17


I want to ride mostly really hard trails with a little downhill and some hucks and stuff..I know that all of these bikes are good but I have no clue which is the best?

Who cares what other people think you should get!! Get down to your LBS, and take the bikes out. Every bike is going to fit people differently, what is the best for one guy may not be the best for another. Worry less about what everyone else thinks, and more about what is going to fit you best.

Componentry is all pretty much the same so you wont go wrong anywhere. I wouldnt buy the Bruiser though as most of its parts are Bontrager which is Treks house brand.

Ride each one and see which one you like best.

Personally, I like the Mullet. It looks so unbelievably sweet in person, but the Hardrock is probably the better buy if you can get it at the same price. But if the fork means a lot to you, than I would get the Mullet as the Splice Comp is just so much better than the MZ Comp which is pretty trash compared to the Splice. But in terms of overall componentry, it's practically impossible to beat the hard rock.

I agree with Drunken Chickens list except the first two. If you are going to do more hucking, downhill, jumping I'd get the Bruiser 2, in my experience it isn't as good for trails however, it's a heavy bike.

I agree, it's true that the Bruiser I think is better for tricks, hucks, jumps and freeride but the Hardrock can handle all that well and it's good on trails. I think the Bruiser is a great bike aswell, but it just wasn't want I wanted.

Ive got the Hardrock Pro Disc, and so far its been really good to me. I've taken it off some 5 foot drops with no problem, and some big dirt jumps. It takes the trails really well and is quite reliable. I havn't tried riding any of those other bikes but i can only say good things about the Pro Disc.

I really don't know what problem there is with Bontrager. I've been riding my Trek good and hard for almost 2 years now, and I haven't had any problems with any of the Bontrager components. I sure as hell have trashed some other stuff on it, like my poor rear der.

If you are going to be doing drops djs, you will need a chainguide.

If you can stay away from Hayes MX2 brakes. Iis is extemely difficult to adjust them.
