Most likely, as you mentioned above to have adjusted them, has the Strida 2 the open cone bearings of the Strida 1 and not those common ball bearings which where used for version 3 upwards.

Unfortunately took Ming cycle all the helpful ancient manuals off their download page;
but at Mr. Sanders issuu page we can still find them, they're very informative and somewhat like wine - the old ones are better ;
