MMCC Rust Shaker Mountain Bike Race
SAVE-THE-DATE! Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10:30AM
22 Rust Shaker Racers Are Now Registered!

Over 120 riders enjoyed the sixth annual Rust Shaker in 2015 at the Mid Michigan Community College Harrison Campus on one of Michigan's best mountain bike trails. Rust Shaker racers can choose from 15 categories with many offering cash prizes. Participants also receive a pizza lunch and the chance to win great giveaways after the race!

Course Description
The course is set in a beautiful forest with massive trees and rolling hills. This trail sports some long, gentle climbs (a few not so gentle) and holds up well to rain. A nice combination of mostly fast flowing trails and some tighter technical trails, with a couple short sections of hilly two tracks. The course will be about 9 miles (1 lap) for the beginner level, about 13 miles (1 lap) for the sport level and about 25 miles (2 laps) for the expert level. The race will begin with a wave start for all classes (1 minute between each wave) on a road roll-out which will take the racers onto the mostly single track course.
A portion of the proceeds from this event benefit MMCC student scholarships and trail maintenance.

Special Note: MMCC is a tobacco and alcohol free campus.

Directions: From US-127 take Mannsiding Road exit. Go east on Mannsiding Road, turn left on Clare Avenue (stop sign) and continue 1/2 mile straight to MMCC's main entrance (first right).

What a fantastic race! MMCC hosted 150 Rust Shaker Racers on a perfect day for mountain biking. Together we raised nearly $2,500 to support student scholarships and trail maintenance and we gave away over $1,500 in cash prizes to racers! Thanks for a great event and we hope to see more of you at the next Rust Shaker!
