Thanks, not a big deal, been here before. This has been a struggle all my life, and I am fairly active, I just like to eat.

I think you'll find that alot of us here "Just like to eat." I'm currently doing this three hour thing, where you eat a tiny, healthy meal every three hours. You start within an hour of waking, then stop three hours before bedtime. I've lost five pounds this week so far, and it hardly feels like a "Diet." Peace, Ritz.

Not even a cover charge? Like 5 pounds or something (pun intended)?

A typical admission might go like this:

"Hi, my name is Don, and I'm a lazy ******. If you've ever read the Puddin' stories, that's me, but with less self-control. Also I cheat on my taxes. Kthx."

BTW, I was 301 this morning. I can SMELL 299. It's right around the corner. Got good news on the job front yesterday, too. I may be able to go back to my actual field this fall, which you could translate as "NEW BIKE."
(I need a new bike anyway, but I wasn't planning on buying it this soon and I was trying to figure out the best way to cheapskate it. If I get this job, I won't have to worry about it.)

I was VERY BAD last night. I was stressing out about some stuff to do with the move, and my cat's failing health and I had a HUGE chocolate/sugar craving. I am not one of these emotional eaters (I just eat purely for enjoyment and gluttony! LOL!) but I am positive this was stress related since it was such a specific craving.

I consumed two helpings of frozen yogurt with chocolate sauce and three chocolate covered oreos!!! O_O

"VERY BAD" is probably pushing it. I think "bad" would adequately explain the situation.

Yeah, I suppose I have done much worse with ice cream and milkshakes and burgers and fries! LOL! I will downgrade it to "bad". I did it at a bad time...between 9pm and 10pm while watching TV!

Well, folks, I have officially missed my self imposed deadline to reach 180 pounds. I told myself on my birthday last year at 40, that by my next one I would be 180. That's today and I'm at 287. The good news is that I'm moving around a lot more than I used to, and I'm not 308 pounds anymore. I just need to keep on keepin' on like the rest of you out there. Peace, Ritz. WWW.TOURDEPANTS.COM

Happy Birthday!!!

The main thing is that you've lost weight and keep plugging away. Sometimes these deadlines are kind of self defeating, so just keep up the good work!

I hope you'll take the day off from dieting today though, enjoy all your fave treats, that's what I'd do!

Uhh, hey, Don ... After looking at the picture in your signature of your frame .... ummm, this weekend might be a great time to buy that new bike. Like, before this one completely craps out on you and the other weld fails.

Congrats on being so near the 299 mark!

Thanks juf2m, I know that it has to be a whole lifestyle change to work, and to that end I have made many small changes that I am sticking with. Thanks for the support. I hope you have a lovely wedding day when that day comes. Peace, Ritz. WWW.TOURDEPANTS.COM

Well weight-wize, I have this question/story for you all.

I had been weighing on a scale at work. It's one of those balance type scales, like they use at the doctor's office. It puts me right on its max edge at 350.

Last week I bought a brand new scale from target which had capacity to go up to 400. I jumped on it and it puts me at 338 (actually 336 this morning).

Which should I believe? Obviously I'd rather believe mine, and obviously it really doesn't matter as long as I'm consistent with the scale I use to track my weight, but curiuos if you all had any thoughts on it.

doctor's scales are more accurate (unless it's broken). Is the one you got at Target a digital scale?

It s a doctor style scale, not a doctors scale (if that makes sense)

YOu have to make sure those things are prefectly zeroed or else you are getting wrong answers. For alot of the summer i have been weighing myself on the same scale everytime. Its a digital scale. (ig ot this from my mom who did weight watchers) you should only weigh yourself once a week (or over a longer period of time) and always on the same scale. So you choose.
