Front wheel locking

Does locking your front wheel in mid-air actually pitch the bike forward? I've done this before and I've seen no change in pitch. So is this fact or myth?

(P.S. Sorry about the n00b question but this has been bugging me)

no, locking the back brake, not the front brake pitches you forward, because a spinning wheel weighs more than a non-spinning one.

Not quite... way I see it, your brake hooks your wheel up to your frame, and your wheel is rotating, and even though it has less mass than the frame, the frame will move since there's no ground to press against.

Then again, bikes dont weigh much so you should be able to hang on tight and just lean forward.
