Chilly ride in Denali Park
The road opened to allow cars to drive 13mi into the park so I started there and did a ride back to Igloo River. The road was pretty good with one stretch of ice and patches of soft dirt here and there. No bears out yet. 28F when I left Savage River. A 15mph wind faced me much of the return (21mi each way). About 3200feet of climbing. The return wind made for a slow ride back. The bike is my Fatback Corvus. I built up some wheels with 2.4" tires for these Denali rides. Perfect.

yep
I saw my first ebike last week as I got near the top of the first pass. I stopped often, taking pictures and a woman on an ebike caught up to me as we approached some 11% grades. At that point she couldn't keep up with me on her ebike. I do worry that it will be over run with ebikes but am ambivelent about them. Some folks who wouldn't otherwise be able to get back in the park would enjoy it but others like me who appreciate some solitude will have less enjoyment if, in fact, it's just full of people zooming around on bikes. For now it's not a huge concern.
