See you there

Hi Thor,
I'll see you there for sure. Are you doing the demo days too?

I'm flying out Monday; hope to see you at the Outdoor Demo... otherwise at the show on Wednesday.

I'd be at demo days and probably at the show for at least one day.

Would have liked to go but have been to Nevada already. I only have a fixed number of days to take off from work.
I usually go to someplace new/never visited before. I understand the show moves around and could be in another state
next time? I'm doing the paperwork to attend the Taipei Show in Nov 2018. The ones in Europe also look interesting.

The only bike show I've attended is the one in Philadelphia; very small event. Can someone please give me some tips
on which shows are good to go to? I help out a little bit at a friend's shop. He's willing to let me use the shop's credentials
so I can get in at the "industry people" only shows. Thanks in advance for any help/tips!

The only show truly worth attending from a general bike enthusiast standpoint is Eurobike. Taipei Show isn't anything special and wouldn't be worth the trip unless you were already interested in visiting Taiwan. Especially in 2018 when it shifts to October and could very well be the worst attended both in terms of exibitors and visitors because of the direct competition with Taichung Bike Week. There are other smaller shows in Japan and China, but are very market specific. Eurobike is the most forward looking and still very well attended whereas Interbike and Taipei Show are dropping more every year.

Interbike has been held no place but Las Vegas so far this century. However, next year it will be in Reno, Nevada. The National Automobile Museum makes Reno a more-attractive venue for me than Las Vegas, so I might go next year. For those of us old enough to have visited the Harrah Automobile Museum in the 1970s & 1980s, this may be like going to Disneyland after visiting Disney World.

Shifting of Interbike is seriously an inward looking idea from the organisers imo.

Reno isn't the easiest place to connect to for visitors outside of the continental USA. Whereas Vegas has quite a lot of direct international connections. I sure hope the organisers have looked at this.

As for Taipei, its a different kind of bike show as opposed to Interbike. Its more of a mid-way between Interbike and Eurobike in terms of outlook. As it caters to both small scale sourcers as well as big scale manufacturers. Interbike and Eurobike being of the two extremes mostly.

Thanks for the insight folks!

Looks like Taipei show and Eurobike for me then. Would have visited Taiwan in the future anyway.
Another friend runs a bike tour company and has plenty of local contacts there. Been to Germany(Cologne)/Europe
before; but there's always another new city to visit.

And just to get back on track; How was Interbike?
Anything interesting to share? Photos?
