Disneyland.
Breakfast was a Mickey-Mouse-shaped beignet and I thought "this is really delicious"
Lunch was a corn dog and I thought, "Fabulous"
Dinner was a tasting menu: Red lentil falafel, citrus salad, seared duck breast, bone marrow with garlic toasts, filet mignon and a raspberry hazelnut torte with dark chocolate ganache. Perfect.
And that is California in a nutshell. A ridiculous mix of highbrow and lowbrow. On the same day. Each within walking distance of the other. You're served a wine pairing with dinner, and you remember sitting in that guy's vineyard tasting wine one fabulous summer day 4-5 years ago and your waiter telling you how the guy got a new dog, a huge spotted Great Dane as tall as the tall chair you're sitting in.
California has lots of naysayers but it does have this weird unique 'anything goes' aspect that I find hugely appealing.

4°A and I’m not riding. In fact, my wife is going to the gym and wanted to know if I was going, too.
I said, “Yes, I’ll drive you and then go to breakfast at the greasy spoon while you work out. What time do I pick you up?”

Since we have black ice this morning, I rode the trainer. I wanted to do a group Zwift ride with a few friends, but one of them really wanted to do a "workout" that she made so I reluctantly agreed.
Doing a group "workout" on Zwift is kinda stupid because you end up not really riding together.
Life lesson.

The interesting thing is that I remember the movie being called "The Bicycle Thief" but it seems it's changed to "Bicycle Thieves" kinda like Bombay now is Mumbai?

I'm taking it easy for a few days and see if my knee improves. It's another dumb week ahead anyway.

Regarding driving to the gym. Mission accomplished. Two eggs, hash browns, sausage and a biscuit.

And that reminds me how long it's been since I ate at a greasy spoon. My dad and I used to do that a lot.

A group workout leaves the cyclists together, whatever the potency of each. Or am I wrong?

Worthwhile. Not wonderful, but good. The views of the Dover cliffs as the Dunkirk "fleet" was departing are kind of goose bumpy. It is just so evocative of everything British from that era.
