Nope. I will continue to do what has worked for me and may work for the OP: ignore. Don't respond.
I do not have to answer questions about my life. So I don't. When coworkers ask about my holiday, my dating life, my marital status, my weekend plans, my biking expeditions, my new bicycle or anything personal: I ignore.
Again, learn to respect differences. Some of us truly do not want to be bothered. I love my workplace. If you want to be in a clique there is one available. If you don't. No pressure. Want to go to family/office bowling night? Great. This Thursday. If not see you tmrw. No office retreats singing kumbaya. No supervisor making everyone eat in the break room together once a week. No prayer time circle before everyone eats lunch.
I am never leaving! LOL!

interesting #Europe arguments:
German workers strike for right to two-year, 28-hour working week
Germany has around 1.1m job vacancies, and in a recent poll by the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) more than half of all companies cited a shortage of skilled workers as the biggest risk facing their business.
Why did I leave

Read above. LOL! No one is interested. They say nice things, are encouraging but everyone I work with drives vans, SUVs, Jeeps and have a bunch of children. Again, I live in the South. Not Portland, Oregon. The concept of biking to work, commuting with children, bakfiets---is aligned with liberalism, socialism and/or poverty. This is a broad generalization but truly: road bikes for the upper middle class or Walmart Genesis for the warehouse just arrived to America group---from MY OBSERVATIONS.

I, personally, reject "purists" who think you're not a "real" cyclist or whatever if you don't ride everyday. To me, commuting is about having fun and staying healthy. If you can't have fun and be safe then that's YOUR call, no one else's. No shame in not riding on ANY day you see fit for ANY reason.
A-****ing-men.

Alternatively, respect differences and the fact though there is no "I" in team building there are I's in: individuality, independence, innovation, isolation.
The joiners never respect those of us not interested in joining. It is very disrespectful. I get sick of it actually. I don't want to wear matching t-shirts. I don't want you go see the Miami Heat on family night, I don't want to attend the holiday party.
I find the joiners too often to be slackers. Less time building personal relationships more time bring productive.

Perhaps!
Southern culture for the most part associates bicycling commuting with poverty. We have a train system. Bus system. 90% of the people I've met have never ridden the bus or taken the train claiming it is not efficient, filthy, gross, crime ridden and for the poor and minorities. So the OP's moron may be coming from a place of snarky derisiveness. Might think the OP is downtrodden....or a drunk.

Even on decent sized rail (Miami to Palm Beach and Boston to Maine) people insist on picking me up from the airport.
Don't get me wrong, London trains are filthy, expensive and have their own issues, but not this public stigma.
Thankfully, I can jog/run or cycle into work, which keeps things easy.

1. You're correct, you work with a moron but maybe
2. he's insecure and jealous of you so he feels the need to point it out when you don't ride? also
3. I, personally, reject "purists" who think you're not a "real" cyclist or whatever if you don't ride everyday. To me, commuting is about having fun and staying healthy. Those types of "dedicated" cyclists- are the ones that will still be here to ride tomorrow, and wont be tje ones ruinimg the image of cyclists in the public eye.
Good call in my opinion... just let the haters hate... if you did ride in...hed of likely had a comment in regards to that... he was probably tjinking about you the moment he stepped outside... wondering what YOU were going to do.

Without having been there I suspect it is a jocular attempt to say, "Hey, we all know why you didn't ride today and no one is judging you for it."

A lower-level agent that is beholden to superiors would probably have a tough time trying to convince his agency to buy him a fancy car though.

At the very least a part of the car expense is tax deductible. If you ONLY use the car to ferry clients around then 100% of the car's costs are deductible. If you use it as a personal car you can deduct the work miles, and if its' primary purpose is as a work car you can possibly pro rate the overall costs of the car as a deduction.

You seem a lot more thin skinned than you think you are.
And this is my last post here, I'm not interested in having the last word.

Dear God are you still at this? Why aren't you suspended yet? Why haven't you been laid off or fired yet? Who do you know? Who's your Godfather? I've got your number, you can take any amount of stuff off your buds... dudes (doubt you get much off the fair sex) who meet your standards of physical attractiveness. You envy The Jerk's intelligence but you are turned off by his physical disrepair. So you came here to kvetch about him getting the drop on you in some innocent banter. Fair enough... but six pages? The BF servers have only so much space for this drivel. Can we shut this down now? You've had your little rant. You've received some good feedback. Lessons there if you want to learn them. I suspect not. No matter. It will all work itself out. Peace.
