Blue Mountain DH Cancelled (OCUP)

I was very afraid that this guy would cause many more problems

His lawsuit included Blue Mountain & now this happens

"This cancellation may have repercussions beyond Ontario. As Intrawest owns and operates many facilities across North America, this could jeopardize future events at venues such as Tremblant in Quebec and Whistler in British Columbia." (quote from link below)

Yeah, you Canadians are scrwed and welcome to 3 weeks ago. j/k

I believe Sirbikealotracing is working to get a different venue to replace the races that were cancled. Although it may be to late. It also sucks 'cause Blue had some idea they might cancle but did not mention it to anyone until what, a week before the race. That blows.

From what I have heard he realy has nothing to base his case on because it was his negligence and not the resorts unlike the guy at BigBear. Hope they keep the races going at Blue once it gets settled because you Easterners realy have no where else to ride stuff like at Blue.

As for it affecting Whistler, unless the guy wins his case it most likely will not affect those on the west side. If it does that would realy suck because I have yet to get up there.

Yeah the laywer hurt himself due to his own negligence, but he still believes that he has a right to sue Blue MTN. Just that threat being there, could & often does cause Insurance Companies to raise the rates, exspecially for special events like DH races.

I also doubt (and hope) that it will not affect any other of the great venues Canada has to offer.

yeah, that definitely sucks. there's a couple threads about it on dropmachine.com where pete from sirbikealot racing posts and is a moderator or admin or something.

i hope things won't be as bad as people are thinking. people who sue for their own *********** suck.

I doubt it will affect whistler. Well it has to a point, to get a pass we had 3 different contracts to sign. Whistler has a huge income and can pay off the people getting injured. We will see long term but it didn't even make whistler burp with upcoming trail builds or events, we are still moving full steam ahead for the new jump park, 2 new trails on garb and blackcomb opening for the first time with a beginner section.

Sirbikealot is the founder of the site and then he moved to whistler, guy is nutty fast
