Mountain biking around Boston?
Hi, I just got a new bike and was wondering if anyone knows of any decent places to go offroading in the Boston area. Any suggestions?

Some good riding is listed here if you scroll down and used the "trail finder". Another great resource for new england riding is NEMBA and the forums found on that page. That should at least get you started.
Where are you located? Actually in the city or closer to the suburbs north/south/west of the city? Do you have access to a vehicle? What kind of riding are you looking to do i.e. XC, freeride, dj, etc.?

If you have a car and can transport your bike, take your bike to Miles Standish State Park. It's more area than you can explore in a year. Take a look on a map, it's south east of Boston. The trails extend into the surrounding woods going out of the park, it is much bigger than just the park area shown on the map. You can get lost. Did you check out the Blue Hills yet? Near or in Milton I think. Just south of Boston.

For some good, rough terrain in Boston, I'd ride down Mass Ave between Westland and Boylston, or Mass Ave from MIT up to Central Square in Cambridge. The roads are so bombed out it's like riding off road.

Hello
I bought a Trek 820 early May; have been hiking Myles for 4 months several (1-5x) per week, and now riding the paved bike trails.
Its really great. I also like the Canal paths, on both sides, and Shining Sea from Falmouth to Woods Hole.
For Mountain Biking the best around is Myles, Borderland, Otis (in Bourne, off Rte 151 No. Falmouth) and Wampatuck State Park off Rte 228 in Hingham
Let me know & I'll meet you at Myles with a hilited map - theres leaves a bit to be desired
