Is the HAC4 coded? In other words, if I buy the HAC4 ... will it interfere (or vice versa) with a non-coded Polar cheapo HR Monitor on a tandem for example?

I dunno myself, but I think I read an anecdote somewhere in these threads where someone's HR was showing up on someone else's monitor during a group ride. That said, I haven't had the problem myself and I love mine. Definitely worth your confirming whether this could be a problem for you, and if not shop around for one.

There is no mention of coding in the HAC4 user's manual. So I assumed that it was not coded. Just to be sure I Googled - hac4 coded - and came up with a UK website on which they specifically say that the HAC4 is not coded.
