Need some opinions
First off i am new to this site, name is Tj and i live in texas. This maybe impossible but i'm looking for a bike that is upgradable. The only thing is that i don't want to spend no more than $300 on it. it can be used but still needs to be ridable. I'm pretty much looking for something i can buy and start riding and slowly upgrade it. Is this possible, any help with be appreciated. thanks

about half on and off road. i would rather have a full suspension, but i don't know if i will be able to find anything used in that price range. i could buy one at walmart, but i don't you can upgrade those much.

if you plan on geting into heavier riding wal mart bikes arnt good at all.And as for the upgrading of them i havt a clue. My best advice is to talk to a guy at your local bike shop.

go grab a boulder (210$) or a trek 820 (230$). i recommend the boulder because its durable yet heavier. my friend got a trek 820, i said just get the 600 dollar jamis eureka (2003) which was all deore, husselfelt, dj2, etc new. but his dad doesnt understand bikes like that, until his son tacoed his wheels. so, try to keep it on road at first... they are cheap but usuable and ridable, and easy to upgrade. before you take it offroad, i recommend getting wheels (rhyno lites, 90$) and a fork (depends, maybe get a rigid), those stock rst's forks arnt event keeping. but what i say is more worth it is just saving an extra 200-300 and getting something half decent!

well i was thinking maybe getting a used one, cause it would be better quality but cheaper cause it's used. what do ya'll think.
