Cycling outfits sexy?
Who else out there thinks that the opposite ( or same 
) sex looks great in cycling gear? I for one think that toned women spinning down the road in lycra couldn't look better.
I only wish I could find someone who was equally into cycling, or at least supportive of it. My last g/f thought I was crazy to out on the road on a bike. If I took my bike down to Target instead of driving the 7 miles to it, she berated me for it. Needless to say, I'm no longer with her.

I'm on the other side of the fence. There are VERY few individuals that look good in spandex.

The vast majority of the non-cycling public thinks that we look silly and strange in our skin tight shorts and garish jerseys. If you find members of the opposite (or same) gender sexy in their bicycle togs, it's a pretty good sign that you, too, are a bike-a-holic.

Yeah, I have to agree that a woman in armour, a few scrapes and maybe a tear in her shorts - WOW. Haven't seen one yet, but I can dream!

I think most people look really good in their cycling gear. Some of those guys, ooh mama! However, I feel llike the shorts make by own butt look huuuuge. I think a lot of women have this notion that unless we're built like a spoke we look huge from behind and I'm no exception. SO I think if someone is coming up behind me they're thinking, "Man her butt is huuge" but they're probably thinking. "Nice bike- what kind of forks are those?" Actually, most of the time I don't think about it, I'm not THAT neurotic. And while I may think my SO is crazy when he goes out in really horrible weather, I never berate him for riding his bike. I'll just say, "you're crazy man, you're gonna catch your death!" ANd then I'll sit down and watch tv while he goes out and freezes in the slush.

Depends. A velochick in lycra looks good, mainly because it's almost impossible to be both overweight and a serious cyclist. Then again, I look at the human body as a marvel of engineering (despite a number of bad design flaws...).
However, because of some form of stupidity so low that it falls under my threshold of comprehension, a large (pardon the pun) percentage of the women at my workplace wear tights and/or spandex clothing; this wouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that most of them have the body of a Stay-Puff marshmallow.
We have perhaps five women out of over a hundred that are capable of seeing their toes. It's pretty sad.
I'll agree with the above quote from Lord Nikon (a la Hackers): "Spandex is a privilege, not a right."

Actually, that was Cereal Killer's line, but it definately holds true. Around here (maine) the typical scene is a skinny little guy with a woman weighing a bout 300 pounds. And of course they always wear skin-tight clothing. It's quite a digusting thing to see.

Gotta say...don't like the bright multicolored jerseys on men or women. I refuse to wear them. Don't like to wear long spandex shorts either. I'm having a heck of a time finding solid colored camisole tops made out of good wicking fabric and shorter lycra shorts that don't cost $100. But I did find some and order a few things from performanceinc.com if anyone's looking for that sort of thing.
But hey...if you've got a nice body, then the bright colors make you get noticed even more. And after the initial shock of "WHAT THE......", comes 'whoa, nice butt.' :thumbup:

Maelstrom...I just realized you're in Whistler! I'm new here. I went there a couple years ago during the summer. I went on my first real hike there to the top of Little Whistler Peak (the higher one was closed). Took a train ride to Lilooet. I LOVE it and I really want to go back some day. How long are the summers there?
