Brooks Proofide Ingredients

The question's been asked before I've wondered myself - what IS in Proofide?

Well, I spent a day surfing the net for info and found a picture of the large, 40gram tin of Proofide - ingredients listed on the lid.

Duh. Or as my 13 year old nephew says, "durrrrrrrrr!"

Here they are, in the order they appear on the tin:
Tallow, Cod oil, Vegetable oil, Paraffin wax, Beeswax, Citronella oil

I wouldn't know how to go about determining if they're listed highest to lowest percentage but you could probably get a lab to do that or figure it out by trial and error.

There ya' go.

- just installed a new saddle today (black B17)... i used Snoseal from a can i've had around for ages... applied to the bottom, heated in by the sun, applied a layer on top, rubbed in, and i'm good to go!

- by the way, either my ass has gotten harder or the saddle was pre-softened, because the test ride for an adjust was smooth!

- i'm going to like riding on a Brooks saddle again! (last time was in 1979)...

:-)
