Keyed brake cable hanger equal headset lockring?
For reasons which shall remain shrouded in mystery, I'm changing brakes from sidepulls to centerpulls. Does the keyed brake hanger simply take the place of the keyed headset lockring spacer, or do I still need need it in the stack somewhere? The brake cable hanger I have is kind of thick, at least twice as thick as the lockring, I'm worried about how many threads at the top I reasonably need to secure the locknut.
Thanks.
Thanks.

hello
Do not re-install the keyed spacer as that would increase the stack height and leave you with less threads to secure the lockring.
If you are left with almost no threads, there are cable hangers that clamp on at the base of your quill stem, directly above the headset lockring.
