Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Hey guys, I got back from France on the 2nd (I was held up for about 6 hours on the runway while the air france plane burned a few hundred meters to our right). I thought the other thread had become embarassingly bloated so here is a new one. Anyone up for some rides in the near/medium/long-term future? I am pretty much bumming around until school starts again in september so I'm looking to put in as many miles as I can. Anyways, I'll have some photos of the tour de france if anybody wants to look at them (picking them up tomorrow), they're probably not all that spectacular but whatever, I got to shake Jan's hand.

I was in Grenoble during the grenoble-courcheval (sp) stage and I was stamding near the starting line and yelled 'JAN! HEY JAN! JAN!' and he came over and shook my hand and I wished him good luck and he said "Thanks!"

Sounds like a great trip. I'd love to get a ride in sometime if anyone's up for it.
