Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Disappearing Threads

WTF?

Why do the mods constantly move things around in here. It's ridiculous - unlike any other forum i've ever frequented.

Yeah I post on a couple of other boards (not related to cycling) and the mods rarely delete or do anything special with threads. The way this board is run pisses me off a lot. Someone who codes should write a new board that we can all go to and not have to worry about our threads being deleted or moved because of small technicalities.

Being the noobie, I've been told to use the search button numerous times. If you've lost a thread....

I won't say it.

See I can understand a thread being deleted or moved because it didn't originally relate to fixed gear bicycles, but a thread that either goes away from the original topic being deleted? That's some ******* ***** right there. WHAT IS THIS? NAZI GERMANY?

Yes the above thread was deleted as complaints were entered.

Shall I officially warn the offending posters?

Sorry I didn't ask permission of you all before getting rid of that trash.

Shall we review the forums guidelines? See here.

<edit> For those too lazy to click the link:

Vulgarity
As a community with a diverse variety of members and readers, we ask that our members to post without using vulgarity. Vulgarity not only includes vulgar language and pictures but also sexist, racist, anti-religious and homophobic language which may offend other members. In addition, the "masking" of vulgarity by inserting * or another keystroke in place of one or more letters in a vulgar term is unacceptable in most cases.

Again with the Nazis? I wish there was a keyboard shortcut for that word. It would save so much time.

If I rant about this, does that make me a Nazi Nazi?

I am not sure what you are saying here.^^

Offensive posts will be deleted. Sometimes it is more effective to delete entire threads if the the content is questionable or the folks responding can't keep it clean.

next time someone starts a thread asking if they should buy a bianchi pista, we should school that person of the pista's fascist heritage.
