Saturday Los Angeles Chinatown Dim Sum and Then Some Ride!

With all this talk of local folks I'm getting all excited. I was planning on going into Chinatown this Saturday and getting some Dim Sum with a few friends, but I'm thinking this could be a sweet opportunity to get to meet some of you Bike Forums Fixie/SS folks, so holla back if you're in.

I'd love to join in . . . but I gotta build up my Fixie/SS first But this may take a little while, since I don't have anything yet to start the build with. I'll try to keep in touch for possible future rides. BTW . . . do you do any of the Critical Mass rides in L.A. or Santa Monica?

Peace

Santa Monica CM is pretty hot from what I hear, the LA one is a bit lacking. The real ride around these parts I must say is Midnight Ridazz on the second Friday of every month at 10pm in Echo Park. Good luck on the ride, let me know if you need any help or have any questions.

Yeah, I participate in the Santa Monica Critical Mass and it's "good times." Me being car-free and living in La Habra makes it a bit difficult to get to the rides, although I want to try them all out. I'll try to hit up the next Midnight Ridazz, since I've heard a lot about if from the riders at the Santa Monica CM. Big thanks for offering help with my Fixie/SS build, I'm bound to need some help especially since this will be my first build.

TakeCare

Wait, what's the Critical Mass, and where in SM do they meet, and what do they do? I live right there.

I just trashed my fork, so, unless I get a new fork (or a new bike), I won't be able to get up there...

#A Best BBQ Dim Sum Bakery. Let's say our goal is to meet there around 10:00am.
It's on Broadway in the heart of China Town. Though I'm thinking maybe we should meet at the China Town Gold Line station and then head down to get the Dim Sum.

The Pasadena crew will depart at 9am, and I'll figure out some checkpoints for those that live between here and there that might want to join up on the way. Keep checking this thread for the latest and greatest info!

You'll be the only one of us out there. This swell comes in every year about this time, and the baseline is supposedly 12 feet. If you can suddenly hang in 12+ ft surf, I will blow you.

I think the south facing beaches will get the best waves (malibu, pt dume, zeros, leo carillo, topanga especially), but they're all going to be full of pros and idiots who think they can hang.

Bring your cameras!

Why are you posting here on bikeforums? You don't even have a bike. Get out of here traitor, just go hop back in your cage, or perhaps mangle another one of a kind olympic track frame.
