What's considered light-weight for a full suspension?

In full suspension bikes - I know all that suspension adds weight, but was wondering what do you consider light-weight, medium and Heavy?

23 to 25 pounds is very light for a full suspension bike. I don't think it would be possible to go under 22 lbs unless it is a show bike.

What componets will make the biggest difference in weight for me to change out?

My guess would be cranks and wheels? Where do I get a bike scale?

My bike is 29 lbs, and any advice would be appreciated.

What kind of bike are we talking about here? XC, freeride, DH??

For XC bikes I would say anything ~26lbs or less would be considered lightweight.

Tires/wheels make the biggest difference, and offer the most bang/buck in terms of weight loss. Some OEM forks weigh a TON, and so do drivetrain components, but those cost a lot more to upgrade.

As for scales, I picked up an Ultimate Alpine scale from my LBS. It's about $60 and clamps on to your workstand. It's great, and very accurate!

I consider 22.5 pounds and lower to be extremely light. 23 - 24.5 pounds to be pretty light. 25 - 26.5 pounds to be average for an xc race bike. Heavier than that is more xc riding than xc race in my opinion.

Here is a link to some light bikes. Some of the full suspensions are under 16 pounds.
