"I only mention it 'cause sometimes there's a man, I won't say a hero, 'cause what's a hero, but sometimes there's a man, and I'm talking about the Dude here, sometimes there's a man, well, he's The Man for that time and place. He fits there. And that's the Dude. In Los Angeles."

Okay folks...Tonight's gonna rock. Clearly we are all excited to see the Dude [or his dudeness, or duder, or el duderino, if you're not into the whole brevity thing] in action. But that's not where the fun stops. There is a special event spokecard for tonight and two door prizes...

The first prize goes to whomever brings me a pirate spokecard. And the second goes to whomever finishes the pillage in truest ninja-pirate form... What does this mean exactly? Well, it's 'to-be-determined' but I have a few ideas and I am open to suggestions.

See you all at 6:30 or 7:30...

Ninja Hello/Gbye Pillage=bittersweet. snarfle. snarf, snaarrf. Who will fill the ninja void? Answer: no one. Everything is such an effing travesty. Ok, so we rode many miles, had many beers, laughs, and hurdled thru the treacherous wasteland of VA Rt 50/Arlington Blvd. offramps to Columbia Pike (never again...because in the end I think Rt 50 swallowed Spud. Spud, where you at?). Lebowski rules; Narnia's for tools. And I (easily) got Noah to get into a garbage can. Awesome pillage, Ninja. We're all sad to see you go.

BOo to you losers who didn't show up. You suck. Redeem thyself:

*Sunday SUNDAY Sunday*
January 22
Haines Ride, 2nd edition
10 am, and I don't want to hear no guff!
Meet near the first tennis court parking lot, near Tourmobile World Headquarters!
If you arrive late, ride counter clockwise to find "us," the royal "we," the editorial...
Bring 1.5 Sacajewea dollars fer awesome grilled cheese afterward, Club House, noonish.
New people always welcome. It's fun. We're nice. You'll see.

Anyway, tomorrow I will have a lot of 'roid rage to work out after having to be at work for the better part of today when it's 65 degrees out. Get out and enjoy it if you can. Out, cat.

Pics are up now.

This is very true. I love thee Ninja. We shall spit on more Acura's, MBs, and BMWs in honor of you.

Uh. Hmmm. I guess i am pretty easy. I'll try harder to not be easy in front of cops. From now on, only difficult in front of cops.

Hey guys. I won't be making it to Haines. Mechanical difficulties. This weekend has officially gone to **** by preventing me at every turn from riding my bike in nice weather. Carry on without me.

Sorry we missed you yesterday LBK. I hope your mechanical difficulties get squared away, and you're back on the road soon. Don't feel like you missed nice weather though, it ended up getting pretty damned cold and windy out there. All you ended up missing was some crazy suicidal cardinal (the avian kind not the catholic kind).

Nuts! After hitting two LBSes, and enduring the cowing "conversion of shame" lectures/looks in each in order to get a $2 part and back on my bike, I've got the problem fixed.
Nothing was stripped-- the tracknuts were the wrong size, so that's why everything has been slowly creeping in my dropouts for the past few months, and finally, twistin in the wind after I tried to tighten down for chain tension one too many times. All set now, I hope.
Highlight of my day:
LBS: "I really shouldn't be working on this. There's stuff on that wheel doing stuff that's not meant to do that stuff."
Me to self: "Ah, conversions...how could it be wrong, when it feels so right?"

Wednesday? Polo or a ride?

I circled around to look for you,but only saw your blinkie disappearing into the distance. I figured you were peeling off to go your own way,so I spun my 33/21 for all it was worth to catch up with the rest of the group. We wound up taking S Walter Reed/Fillmore straight over to Clarendon, which was a smoother ride than that trail mess Tink led us down. I swear,Tink's gotta have some kinda bat sonar or sumptin, the way he was running those trails without a light. Next time I go to Arlington,I'm taking the Fillmore route.

The Surly's staying in the hangar until I can do some TCTO work. Way too undergeared.

Ninja: great ride man. Hope to see you at polo Wed. Maybe we'll even let you win.

Tomorrow morning, i will be having a small surgery to fix my nose due to a bicycle accident a few months ago. This will involve having thee nose reset and removal of a piece of pavement from said nose. I know how sexy this all sounds. This means, no riding for me until maybe Friday or Saturday. However, this also means, no work and Rx Drugs. Lots of them. Reading too. This should be a fun week.

i know, very obnoxious

hope it goes well and safe tomorrow. (I'm resisting making a joke about having stephen malkmus removed from your nose. surgery is serious.) Get well soon! I must go before the zombies make me hurl.

Word up P-rats! Thanks for everyone that came out on Friday and thanks as well to those who wanted to come but were unable to join us. Sorry I am slow wit' the pix and vids from that night, but all my ****e is on my computer at home. I will try to post sometime soon.

I've had a great time riding wit' you all and have finally learned how cool DC can actually be (Too bad it took me two years to find out). So I've still got a week here so let's do some riding while the gettin's good.

Peter, I could use a root canal. Do you do dentistry?

Save the date, suckas.
