Old bike, crap fork, need help.

First post and I'm asking for help (Typical forum newbie...)
Anyway - I haven't ridden this bike in a really long time, and its probably getting pretty old. But, I want to make it 'ok' again. It is a Trek Mtn Track XL 850... Check out this fork and tell me what I should do? I'm guessing that the forks are probably shot just from sitting for so long, and that I should probably replace it, but with what? When I do find a replacement, should I be looking to use another threaded one?

Thanks
